Fruit Salad
Equipment required:
- Knife
- Chopping Board
- Bowl
- Citrus Juicer
Ingredients:
- Selection of your favourite ripe fruits
How to:
- Choose a selection of your favourite ripe fruits (we like mango, red grapefruit and apple)
- Peel if necessary and chop into bite sized pieces (get an adult to help you if you are not used to chopping on your own)
- Mix together in a bowl with some lemon or orange juice to give extra flavour. If you have chosen a fruit such a apple this citrus juice will also help stop the fruit going brown
- Eat straight away or leave for 30 minutes or so for the flavours to mix together
- Serve at room temperature to fully be able to taste the flavours
|
THG Tip: |
If adding banana to your fruit salad, do so at the last minute before serving so that the banana stays firm in texture. |

Jana LOVES these on their own, or added to water or fresh juice as fruity ice cubes.

- Place them in the container and then into the freezer.
- After 3-4 hours you will have frozen grapes - yum
|
THG Tip: |
Jana loves to use red or black grapes for these, but experiment with different types and see which you like |
Mega Mango Smoothie

This is very simple and delicious.
Equipment required:
- Knife and chopping board
- Citrus juicer
- Blender or hand blender
Ingredients:
- 2 mangoes
- ½ cup of orange juice (approx 1 large orange)
How to:
- Carefully remove the flesh from the mango (get an adult to help you if you are not used to using a sharp knife by yourself) and place it in the blender.
- Cut the orange in half and juice it.
- Add the orange juice to the blender and blend until smooth.
- Enjoy

THG Tip: |
Use only ripe mangoes for this recipe - for the most delicious flavour. A mango is ripe when it is soft and has a sweet smell. | | | |
